EXPERIENCE
I've worked with organisations of all shapes and sizes
Domain knowledge across Banking, Identity, Payments, Logistics, FMCG, eCommerce and AI. I've consulted with companies and shipped my own products. I combine my qualifications in Psychology with my experience in product, design and service design to deliver outcome driven innovation.
working together
I value transparency and challenging our assumptions by default.
I work with stakeholders to identify how a piece of work relates to the overall outcomes that are being sought after, how this is measured, what challenges or pain points exist, and what research, evidence or insights exist to create some upfront momentum. With the foundations established, I collaborate closely with product teams, subject matter experts and customers to identify how we might solve the problems to deliver on the outcome, and de-risk by building and testing quickly.
Research is deeply situational, and is dependent on crafting a plan that is based on what we're trying to learn. I draw on my experience across domains and methodologies to identify the right type of research, while still keeping the approach pragmatic. Research is our primary tool for de-risking the decisions and investments we make, and my approach is always planned around invalidating our assumptions, rather than confirming what we think is right.
Collaborating closely with open and honest communication across stakeholder groups helps to create a shared understanding of the work being done. Conflicts or differing opinions that persist can be reframed as unanswered research questions or bets we need to explore. Identifying there is value in diverse views and lived experience helps to create better outcomes and more trust in teams.
Any feature, service, improvement to a product or brand new initiative can be measured through leading and lagging indicators, which I aim to identify at the start of a piece of work (if not already known). Once known, the work we do together will directly impact these indicators and provide an objective way for us to determine success. If our ambition is to increase weekly active users by 15%, we need to learn what factors influence this metric. By making bets (hypotheses) to improve these factors (our leading indicators), we will see changes to our weekly active users (lagging indicators).
Everything is an experiment.
Short version:
- I love to find and solve problems.
- I love to run.
- I love electronic music and events.
- Degree in psychology, expertise in qual research.
- Big on outcome over output.
- Cats.
- "Yes and" over "No, but".

How do you approach projects?
I work with stakeholders to identify how a piece of work relates to the overall outcomes that are being sought after, how this is measured, what challenges or pain points exist, and what research, evidence or insights exist to create some upfront momentum.

How do you manage conflicting views or opinions?
